Bobby Bedi is one of India's most respected independent producers. Over more than three decades he has produced Bandit Queen, Fire, Saathiya, Maqbool and The Rising, among others, taking Indian cinema to Cannes, Locarno, Toronto, Busan and Berlin. He leads ContentFlow Studios, based in Delhi NCR and Dubai.
Bobby Bedi (born Sundeep Singh Bedi, New Delhi, 1956) read economics at St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi, and took an MBA at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Bombay, before working at HCL, Philips India and Sony. In 1989 he founded Kaleidoscope Entertainment, whose debut, In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones, written by Arundhati Roy, won two National Film Awards. He went on to produce Shekhar Kapur's Bandit Queen (Cannes Directors' Fortnight, 1994), Deepa Mehta's Fire (1996), Shaad Ali's Saathiya (2002), Vishal Bhardwaj's Maqbool (2003) and Ketan Mehta's The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey, the opening film of the 2005 Locarno Film Festival. He founded the School of Convergence in 2008, developed museum storytelling at Virasat-e-Khalsa and the Gita Gallery, and guided the Global Content Market at FICCI Frames. He received a career tribute at SEMINCI Valladolid in 2023 and the UK Asian Film Festival's Golden Flame Award in 2025. In 2024 he founded ContentFlow Studios to carry that work forward; its slate includes Kaizad Gustad's Lala & Poppy and the India–Spain documentary Invisible Strings / Mudras.
ContentFlow Studios (ContentFlow Films and Web Series Pvt Ltd) is an Indian film and television production company led by producer Bobby Bedi, with offices in Delhi NCR, India and Media City, Dubai. It makes feature films, documentaries and series for international audiences, with a focus on co-productions. Its current slate includes Lala & Poppy, a Hindi feature by Kaizad Gustad that premiered at IFFI Goa in 2025, and Invisible Strings / Mudras, an official India–Spain documentary co-production.
